Single Review: UGLY LOVE – NO MODEL

Single: No Model

Release date: 24th February 2014

UGLY LOVE, consisting of Tom Adolph (Vocals), Kit Hawes-Webb (Guitar), Matt Lucas (Bass) and Sammy Carne (Drums) are a very energetic alternative pop rock band from Kent that have been building a fan base in the UK. Since releasing their self-titled EP, they have appeared at Soccer Six 2013 and have already played with many big name bands, including Lost Alone, Blitz Kids, Fearless Vampire Killers and Black Light Burns.

The single No Model  is a great sounding track with a strange yet really catchy feel to it. With one line in the chorus being “I look like I’ve been beaten in the face with a shovel”, you can just tell that this band has a real peppy and fun attitude that I imagine is awesome to listen to live.

I’m going to go out there and say that UGLY LOVE is going to be one band to look out for in the future, and seeing that they have already had exposure in Kerrang! Magazine, as well as BBC introducing, it seems that I’m not the only one to think this.

Touring the UK for the first time this year, you can catch Ugly Love at one of their gigs starting from the 20th February in London or at the Introducing stage at this year’s Takedown festival.

Tickets can be found here.

You can also buy their EP here.
