The Traps, a 4 piece band from Birmingham have just released their new single, My Grip/Imposter from their Calypso album on the 17th March 2014 as part of the double AA-side digital single .

This song follows up their previous release, Calypso and complements the album perfectly. It opens with a throbbing bass line intro followed by stylistic and dominating deep indie vocals. Together, this song incorporates their unique sound which you’d be crazy not to love.

This track includes a simplistic guitar riff where less is most certainly more making it a mellow song, perfect for those relaxing kind of days when the sun is out. Then suddenly the song breaks out into a contagious chorus which will inevitably draw your ears in with its more upbeat nature and you’ll catch yourselves humming along to this one.

A slight use of synthesisers is included in the chorus which is the icing on the cake, taking you into your own world. The song finishes with the perfect form of closure, as the focus turns to the complex and understated drums.
