Since the launch of Microsoft exclusive Titanfall last week, the Xbox One has seen a massive 96% increase in hardware sales, with 70% of all of last week’s Xbox One hardware sales coming from the Titanfall bundle.
Respawn’s new shooter also overcame fierce competition from the highly-anticipated Dark Souls 2 to claim top spot in this week’s All-Formats sales Charts and become 2014’s fastest selling game so far.
These figures come following last month’s Xbox One price drop, which saw Microsoft’s new console fall from £429.99 to £399.99.
Titanfall, Respawn Entertainment’s first game since its formation in 2010, released on Xbox One and Windows last week with an Xbox 360 version arriving later this month.
There has been a huge amount of buzz surrounding Titanfall since its reveal at E3 last year, and by the looks of the sales figures and the positive critical reception it’s received, Titanfall seems to have lived up to the hype. A sequel seems inevitable, will Respawn be able to replicate the success they had with the Call of Duty series?
