Following the release of their album Awake earlier this year, through Ghostly International, Tycho have released a new music video for their track See. The video is directed by GMUNK and was filmed in Northern California.
The basis for the music video is the idea of our perceived reality vs. actual visual reality. This is a really great idea for See and the video and track combine well together. Although the idea has a lot of potential and is quite enticing for viewers, unfortunately the execution of it falls slightly flat.
The video has some really interesting and great looking special effects that enhance it and portray the theme of the music video successfully but there is something about the storyline that is less than exciting. The idea of the hooded man seems to not match the rest of the video, where the main character experiences visual changes in her surroundings. It would be possible to remove the hooded character and it wouldn’t be a massive loss and would make the special effects stand out more.
A real highlight of the video is that there are some fantastic locations featured, with many of them having been shot and edited in a very beautiful way.
Fortunately, the single is a really great track. The accompanying video has been released at a perfect time for audiences to enjoy it as one of their favourite tracks of the summer.
Tycho will be performing around the UK during July, the dates are as follows:
17- 20th July – Latitude Festival, Suffolk UK
22nd July – Gorilla, Manchester UK
23rd July – Button Factory, Dublin IRE
