Left 4 Dead 3 and Source 2 have been spotted after photos from a tour round Valve’s offices were posted on the Dota 2 subReddit.
The photo below, which is photo #29 in the album posted on Reddit, shows a Valve change log history and if you look very closely you can see ‘[Source 2]‘ followed by ‘L4D3′ on several lines roughly halfway down the list.
Left 4 Dead 3 has been a long time coming considering Left 4 Dead 2 was released in 2009, just a year after the original game. The fact that ‘Source 2′ and ‘L4D3′ appear on the same lines suggests Left 4 Dead 3 will run on the new engine, it seems likely that Valve will use it as a launch game for Source 2.
The original Source engine launched in 2004 alongside Counter-Strike: Source and followed shortly by Half-Life 2, could this be a sign that Half-Life 3 is finally on it’s way?
At the time of writing Valve are yet to comment on these findings.
