Rockstar Games have announced that Grand Theft Auto V is set to be released worldwide in spring 2013 for both Xbox 360 and PS3.
The news came after rumours started circulating the web following a GAME employee tweeting a picture of posters of the game containing a release date and pre-order details. The tweet has since been removed.
Rockstar confirmed the leak later that day and revealed that GTA V will be available to pre-order from today (November 5th). There is no word of a PC release date as of yet; although it should be remembered that its predecessor did not arrive on the platform until December of that year, following the game’s April console release.
At the time of writing no further information has been issued pertaining to details of the game’s content; all the information we have at present coming from last November’s announcement trailer which reveals that Grand Theft Auto V sees the return of the series to sunny California, this time to the fictional city of Los Santos.
A second trailer is currently in the works but has been temporarily put on hold due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy on the city of New York. Rockstar has nevertheless promised that more information is on its way soon.
I am excited, very excited. Roll on spring 2013!
